Elliot P. Smith is a partner at the law firm York Howell.  He is a licensed attorney and a certified public accountant whose legal practice focuses on asset protection, business formation and finance, business transactions, estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, and taxation. Elliot earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting degrees from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Elliot has extensive legal, tax and business experience having worked with an international accounting firm in both its federal tax and mergers and acquisition practices as well as with several law firms. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele ranging from billion dollar companies to professional athletes and has gained significant experience dealing with complex client issues. Such experience has allowed him to gain a strong reputation among attorneys and accountants across the Wasatch Front and he frequently provides consultation for tax and legal professionals on wide variety of complex tax issues.

Elliot is a member of Wealthcounsel, an elite organization of estate planners and asset protection attorneys who work together to provide the most cutting edge and highest quality services to clients. Elliot has a passion for estate planning and works hard to personally know and understand each of his clients so he can create customized plans to protect their families and pass their most important values onto future generations.

In addition to the education listed above, Elliot earned a Master of Science degree in Sports Conditioning and Performance at Southern Utah University and is a certified exercise physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine.

In his spare time, Elliot enjoys spending time with his family, biking, watching movies, snowshoeing, and fly fishing.

Elliot is married to Rachel and they have two children. They currently live in South Jordan, Utah.
